Check out our latest news - New cloud storage options for Office mobile and Office Online

We are looking for market leading cloud storage providers who manage millions to billions of Office documents and are interested in connecting their cloud storage services to Office Online and Office for iOS. Check out the integration details and technical whitepapers available to learn more. Our team will add updates to this web page as we release more Office integration features.

Office Online

We're offering cloud storage providers the opportunity to integrate Office Online into their web-based experiences. With this integration, users will be able to view and edit PowerPoint, Word, and Excel documents stored in third-party cloud storage. This program is aimed at delivering Office experiences where users need them, including scenarios around sharing and collaboration.

In order to integrate with Office Online, third-parties need to implement the server side portion of the Office Online REST API (WOPI) as well as build the HTML and script necessary for hosting the Office Online experiences. To learn more about integrating with Office Online and to register for the program, please read the accompanying documentation and complete the registration form below.

Office for iOS

We're offering cloud storage providers the opportunity to integrate with Office for iOS. With this integration, the user will be able to add your cloud storage service as a "place" in Office, whereby the user can browse for PowerPoint, Word, and Excel files on your service right in Office itself. The user will be able to open, edit, and create against your service directly from within Office as well as open these files from your app into Office. Although currently the experience is limited to browse, open, save, and create, our intent is to include more robust scenarios in the future.

In order to integrate with Office for iOS, a third-party will have to implement the server side portion of the WOPI APIs as well as update its iOS app. WOPI is the same protocol needed for Office Online integration. To learn more about integrating with Office for iOS and to register for the program, please read the accompanying documentation and complete the registration form below.
